homer.gothic
This is a newer Homer Laughlin pattern I'm pretty sure - Gothic - but the weight and durability of these plates comes second to none! These will probably mingle with my everyday dishes - white Fiestaware, also by Homer Laughlin!

saucer
Heavy in the dish department lately, I know...but I am a certified dinnerware rescuer! Especially with abandoned saucers. They already have so much trauma in their lives - their teacup is missing! I give them a nice bath, a prominent place to stay...

I took one look at that chunky handle and thought, now that's coming home with me. And it's made by Walker, which is a restaurant ware label. The color! Oh that color. I can't tell you how many ways I love that color...

liberty.blue.dessert?
My mom collects this pattern - Liberty Blue by Staffordshire. It was a promotional pattern for the Federal Savings + Loan bank she worked for during the 1970s-80s. She'd dumpster dive for the overstock that'd get delegated to the trash. I don't know. We might be related.

nilon.brothers
These are Homer Laughlin plates made for a PA catering company, Nilon Brothers. I'm going to do a little more research on them when I get to work tomorrow! But they are just so adorable and I couldn't believe the price.

I hope you enjoyed Pyrex week. Now on to more of the random. This painting was impossible to leave behind. Anyway, it's dated 1966. Surfs up!

Are the Goodwills getting savvy with their price points or what?! Despite the tag - eek - I couldn't refuse such pretty golden bowls.

You do remember this creamer from a recent post, yes? I found a salad/bread plate in the same pattern!

Solid Cherry Tip: Spare change is incredibly fun to work with - set aside all of yours in a jar and take it to the thrift shops. You will come home with treasures!

Looks can be deceiving. While I don't intend to bop off my bum and get a tape measure, this mirror seems larger in person than on camera. I did weigh the mirror - twenty solid pounds! It's very heavy (read: I should probably get in shape already). I had absolutely no need for it, other than I thought it would look pretty in white. The shape is different, no? Kind of vintage modular or something...

pink.brown.tray
I spotted this tray (and its identical twin) and there was just something about it that reminded me of my late grandma, Edna. She was quite the lady.

pink.chocolate
I bought this deep chocolate creamer at the most retro of places in Palm Beach County - Delray's Goodwill. I thought it would look nice with my Gaudalupe roses as they're pink and I have long loved the pink/brown color combination. Come to think of it, my Hot Chocolate roses will look nice in here, too.

A little restaurant ware for my tiny collection. A saucer? That's my best guess. It's tiny.
Bonus: From Restaurant Ware Collectors Network:
[Mayer produced] this custom pattern in 1959 for a restaurant in Manhattan. The Forum was one of a series of theme restaurants established by Jerome Brody in the 1950's.

Fitting for me to post about a little plate today, April 3rd. It is my mom's birthday and she is responsible for giving me the thrifting gene!

gift
A friend of mine and fellow thrifter picked this little creamer up for me at a local Salvation Army just because. What a nice treat!

treasure
I still have a nice amount of things left to share from last Monday's thrift score, but they are waiting in line to have their picture taken. Today, while transplanting a bougainvillea from one shady part of our yard to full sun, I unearthed this little glass jar. So many things I've found in this yard! Even if it is nothing special, I'm going to clean it up and find a use for it...

Speaking of found - I want to give you two updates with regards to other things found around the property...first, my portable flower box. You can hardly even see what it is now!

And remember my rescued bull frog? His bull frog fro is growing nicely (please pardon the unswept deadheads!):

...So I went a little crazy with the lavender impatiens, but they do so well in Florida during this season! I have a lot of herbs growing too; I will share them soon because some of them were planted in thrifted pots!
