oldies

007-1

I'm at work today but my Pyrex got the day off.  I wonder what it is doing.

Here's to the middle of the week.  I hope you are having a blast.

primary school

Before I moved, I took some photos of my Pyrex before it went into boxes.  Here's one such photo.  And here are some suggested talking points:

  • Never buy Pyrex that has been loved or misused too much.  Well, you certainly can, but I don't!
  • Turquoise!  Red!  Yellow!

  • (empty bullets for you)

  • (EDIT: 7/06/11) MORE BULLETS ADDED FOR YOU!

I have never shared these here and I thrifted them a couple of years ago.  What?!  Can you believe that!

Friendships, I will never forget about you again.

Oh, so stressed today!  Looking at this is like getting a free massage.  On the eyes.  Y'all:  have lovely days.

An old piece of mine jumped out of the collection and said SHOOT ME!

No Pyrex at the thrifts today.  Boo!  Maybe something will turn up this week.

I went digging again through old photos...so I give you Pyrex as Three Scoops of Ice Cream without Cone.

I shouldn't be focusing on the pastels - hello, Autumn Harvest!  It's your turn in the spotlight!

Oh my heavens, I found some Pyrex.  My sister was in town last week, visiting her new nephew, and we decided to make an afternoon of thrifting.  She too collects Pyrex and so I was literally shopping with my competition (she has an awesome collection)!  Not only did she let me have this piece (a pattern called, appropriately, Golden Hearts), she payed for it!  And she even bargained for it (it was marked $12 and because she is so cute she got if for $6).  I tell ya, I have the best sisters!

Just going through photos on my hard drive and thought I’d share this one.  I saw a lot of Pyrex this weekend, only nothing I wanted…boohoo!

babies & pyrex = what fun

054-1

George was quite babbly yesterday – he went on and on!  It was so dear.

I had plans to make quick thrift stops over the weekend but they didn’t pan out so well – I’ll try again soon.

In the meanwhile, if you’d like, please drop by a special new blog that I’m a small part of --- The Pyrex Collective.  {If you’re interested in contributing to it also, Pyrex Addicts, please do!  Contact info is available at the blog.}

This is the first piece of Pyrex I scored as a…MOM!  Perfect for brownies, don’t you think?  This is only the second piece of lime green Pyrex I’ve ever come across…it sure is tough to photograph (it seems to turn out too light), but I was able to capture it here (pretty true to color) in the candlelight!

I thought that I already had this piece in this pattern but I didn’t, so I’m glad I scooped it up!  It was definitely a steal…

Pyrex is never out of season!  Ever!  I was delighted beyond all delight to find this holiday-ish piece a couple of weeks ago.  It is in great condition!  I already snapped its picture (as you can see) and put it up with my snowflake pieces.  See you come the wintertime, beautiful Pyrex!

Pyrex!  I so love this pattern; it reminds me of a matter of lovely things, but especially, for some reason, the wheat reminds me of my Great Grandma Didi. She is quietly in the background of many of my childhood memories.  She was too cute.  Just like this.

Pretty, pretty Pyrex!  Finally, it turned up again!  This pattern and delicious solid are from the Horizon Blue family.

This piece of Pyrex was left on the front porch by my husband's aunt.  Too sweet!

Pyrex, I love you.  But gol dang, you've gotten so hard to find!

I'd all but given up thrifting for rare Pyrex and then this turns up...I'm renewed!  You don't know how long I've been searching for this color combo in the snowflake pattern!  A long time; in fact, years!  Since I started collecting Pyrex in 2006, I've been in love with the snowflakes, but the striking white on black has been a long chase and I'm so thrilled to have finally scored it!

I'm having a lot of luck lately with the wintery goop.  Must be due to some spring cleaning?  Whatever the case, I hope it continues...

Finally!  I have the whole set: yellow, green, red, and now the blue nesting mixing bowls...and I found two blues at once!  They're definitely prettier in person than this picture...I'll have to photograph the bowls altogether.  Make them feel special, you know?  Teehee.
