$1 (from back in the day)

015-4  019

I was still living in Portland when I found The Official Preppy Handbook at a St. Vincent de Paul’s thrift store (in my opinion, the world’s greatest thrift store ever; sadly the location closed up shop).  This is probably one of my most favorite finds of all time.  Copies start, used, on Amazon.com at $40.  And that’s because the information therein is indispensible, dahling.

Ha ha ha---I used ot own the Preppy Handbook too!!! My daughter and I went over to consignment shops on the island of Palm Beach today to look around...saw Prada, Gucci, Coach, etc, and found a vintage shop that was closed for the summer, filled with a lot of pink and green...and some sky blue with polka dots too! Lots of trims! I told my daugher if I could fit into a size 12, I would buy every last stinkin peice of clothing from that shop!!! I love vintage clothes...on a thin person! LOL!

You know, when that shop reopens I am going over to see if I can inspire myself to lose weight enough to fit in those clothes....if you are ever over, it is on Sunset near South County Rd.

I so remember this. I also remember the Anti-Preppy Handbook. It had a bullet going through the cover as I recall.
